July 13th Workshop with M Sabine Rear

Personal Narrative in Comics

1pm – 4pm @ Marrow PDX (7025 N Lombard St Portland, OR 97303)

Every person has a story to tell. This workshop will focus on writing and developing layouts that communicate YOUR story clearly and effectively to the reader.

M. Sabine Rear is a cartoonist, zine-maker, and the cute blind lady you gave your seat to on the bus. Her work address disability, gender and the permeable boundaries of public and private space. Her travelogue essay comic Reverse Flaneur was nominated for a 2017 Ignatz Award. She is an organizer with the Portland Zine Symposium, a founding member of Soft Skills Comics Collective, and a pillar of the karaoke community. http://www.michaelsabine.com

Suggested Supplies: Your favorite drawing tool, notebook, and/or sketchbook. 

Limited to 30 participants on a first come, first served basis.
*There will be a waitlist, and participants will be notified by the Wednesday prior to the workshop if space becomes available.

Marrow is located on the corner of N Lombard and N Alma, across the street from the St John’s Fred Meyer’s. It is easily accessible via the #75 Trimet bus.
